Escape Room: a physical and mental adventure game in which players are locked inside a closed room or circuit. To escape, they have to solve all sorts of enigmas to figure out the story and “escape” before time is up.

Although escape rooms sound strange to many people, in the last three years over 300 have been opened throughout Spain. Ambar and Coco Room have joined forces to develop the first beer-themed escape room. “The Visit” is a tour of the various rooms at Ambar’s brewery which gives players an extremely delicate mission: since the master brewer has disappeared under strange circumstances, visitors have to decipher the most coveted beer formula and make sure that production gets started. This must be done in record time since they have to abandon the brewery within 75 minutes.

This is an irresistible story for enigma enthusiasts and staunch beer lovers. Underneath this storyline, there is a lot of information about the brewing process, the ambient sound and all types of recreations and original details of Ambar’s hundred-year-old factory in Zaragoza.

The project, which will also go to Madrid and Valencia in September, will last for two years. According to Enrique Torguet, Ambar’s marketing manager, “This type of activity enables us to get closer to our visitors and share a very dynamic and fun experience with them.” They go through all the brewing processes, from conception to enjoyment.

During “The Visit”, the players must work in a team and test their powers of deduction. According to Aldo Sorrosal, one of the partners of Coco Room, no closed group plays the game since “couples, groups of friends, businesses and families also play”; apart from the fun that they have, the roles that each team member plays also stand out.
“The Visit” will open to the public on Monday 19 June (Paseo Echegaray y Caballero 148, Zaragoza) and you can book a place through ambar.com/la-visita or cocoroom.es.

Some brands have already committed themselves to this original format. This is the case of Netflix in Madrid on the occasion of Geek Pride Day, as well as Première Pièce, Google’s escape room in Paris.
