Cervezas Ambar has launched its latest beer creation: AMBAR ROJA. A lambic beer brewed with tart cherries. The fourth creation of the Ambiciosas Ambar collection is a combination of two beers: one fermented with wild yeast which is powerful and dark, and the other has a lighter colour and is milder and less bitter.
That combination with tart cherries makes it an unexpected, fun and balanced beer. Its complex sweet, sour and bitter taste grabs your attention just as much as its colour.
According to Antonio Fumanal, master brewer at Ambar, “It is similar to the lambic beers because of its spontaneous fermentation; the use of fruit and its appearance and taste take us to Belgium.” However, this is a return trip since “it will never be a lambic for purists.”
According to Enrique Torguet, “We like to be inside the box so that we can then think outside it and Ambar Roja, like the other beers in the Ambiciosas collection, will grab everyone’s attention. You will either love it or not like it at all. That was the spirit at the start and, so far, this has remained intact.”
Its fermentation style and 6.7 % alcohol content provide unusual gastronomic combinations in the beer industry. As a result of its balanced sweet and sour taste, it can be paired with cheese and other desserts. And, like cherries, Ambar Roja can put the perfect finale to a summer meal.
