Moritz was the first Barcelona beer, founded in 1856. It belongs to the longest-standing brewing family in the country. Its founder Louis Moritz, originally from Alsace, was the first person in Spain to invest in industrial brewing, at what is today the Moritz Brewery on Ronda Sant Antoni.
